Below is a brief history of The Beatles Biography of John, Paul, George, and Ringo. Follow the links for more information or more specific details as offered:
The Beatles – The trio of John Lennon, Paul McCartney, and George Harrison had been together in some form or another since 1958. Pete Best was the drummer from late 1960 to late 1962 and is widely regarded as ‘the fifth Beatle’. In late 1962, Ringo Starr takes over drum duties. In ’62 – ’63, The Beatles continue their regain as the most popular band in Liverpool and begin there recording career. 1964 sees them conquer America, bringing Beatlemania across the pond and an unprecedented domination of the US charts. In 1967, the Sgt Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band album becomes arguably the most influential album in pop music history. After 12 albums and 20 number one singles, the Beatles didn’t just make there mark commercially. They were a true cultural phenomenon as well.
The Beatles biography I like most is The Beatles Antholgy Book. It is told by all four Beatles themselves and is about as complete a stroy of The Beatles stroy as you are ever going to read. It has a massive 5 out of 5 stars on Amazon. They also have the best prices I have seen anywhere. Click the photo if you want to read some reviews:

John Lennon – John Winston Lennon was born October 9, 1940 in Liverpool to Julia and Alfred Lennon. John was raised by his Aunt Mimi in the Woolton section of Liverpool. His love of Elvis turned him to rock ‘n roll and he decided to form his own group. In 1957 he met Paul McCartney, without whom, we would might not know who John Lennon is and visa verse. In 1962, he married Cynthia Powell and Julian Lennon was born April 1963, right when The Beatles reached their height in England. John married Yoko Ono in Gibraltar in 1969. After The Beatles broke up in 1970, Lennon went on to live a very interesting life. He had 12 solo (or with Yoko) albums, was very politically active in the early 70’s, went on his ‘lost weekend’ in Los Angeles, and became a very famous ‘house husband’ for his second son Sean in the mid 70’s. Just after re-kindling his recording career, he was gunned down in New York City on December 8, 1980 by Mark David Chapman. Philip Norman does a good job shifting through the life of one of the most interesting and influential people of the 20th century.

Paul McCartney – James Paul McCartney was born June 18, 1942 and was the first son of Mary and James McCartney. His father was a piano and trumpet player in his own band in the 1920’s. Paul met John Lennon at the Woolton fete in 1957 and it was at Paul’s 20 Forthlin Road home in Liverpool that the most famous song writing team of all time started their partnership. He dated well-known British actress Jane Asher during most of the Beatle years, but married Linda Eastman in 1969, a marriage that would last nearly 30 years. Though famous for being The Beatles bass guitar player, McCartney played and excelled at all instruments and later played multiple instruments on many Beatles recordings. His career after the Beatles was incredibly successful. He’s had 31 non-Beatles albums (both solo and Wings) and is arguably the richest and one of the most accomplished musicians of all time. Many Years From Now is my favorite McCartney bio to come out in the last 10 years. it is the most complete, in my opinion.

George Harrison – George Harrison was born February 25, 1943 to Louise and Harold Harrison in Liverpool. Harrison knew McCartney from riding the bus to and from school. After joining the Quarrymen, Paul invited George to come sit in with them, knowing Harrison had some skills. Not accepted by John at first (mostly because of his age) George was finally accepted and became part of the ‘core’ Beatles. Known as the ‘quiet one’, George was the youngest and often treated as such. Always in the shadow of the genius that was Lennon/McCartney, George really came into his own as a song writer toward the late 60’s, especially with ‘Something’ and Here Comes The Sun’ on the Abbey Road album. George also managed the first solo number one single by a Beatle with ‘My Sweet Lord’ in 1971. He married Pattie Boyd, one of the models used in A Hard Day’s Night in 1966. They were married until the early 70’s and he then married Olivia Arias in 1978 to whom he was married for 23 years. George Harrison was struck down by cancer on November 29, 2001. He was 58 years old. I don't really have a good bio to recommend for George. Yes, they are out there, but none that i would say you have to have. That being said, if you don't have Concert for george this is a must have. Paul, Ringo, Clapton, Dylan, Petty, all honor George with this unbelievable concert. It is one of my favorite concerts of all time. Check out what people on Amazon are saying:

Ringo Starr -- Richard Starkey was born July 7th, 1940 in Liverpool to Elise and Richard Starkey. Richie Starkey became Ringo Starr in the summer of 1959, wanting to jazz up his name for a summertime gig in Wales with Rory Storm and the Hurricanes. He was asked to join The Beatles in August of 1962, replacing Pete Best. Ringo fit in perfectly with The Beatles and was known for his unique sayings like ‘it’s been a hard days night’, ‘eight days a week’, and ’tomorrow never knows’ all of which became titles of a Beatle tune. Ringo married long time girlfriend Maureen Cox in 1965 and had three kids. They divorced in 1975 and Ringo married Barbra Bach in 1981 to whom he is married to this day. Since The Beatles break up in 1970, Ringo has had numerous solo projects and an accomplished acting career. The Beatles biogrpahy is an amazing story. There a ton of great book at Amazon for you to get the full story. Here are a few that I like the best: Goeff Emerick was an engineer and producer at Abbey road studios. If you want to hear stories of the group from someone THAT WAS THERE, this is the best book I have read other than the Anthology. Great insight to be sure. 4 1/12 ou tof 5 stars on Amazon. Check it out if you are Beatle fan and want to read about them from the perspective of someone that was there.
